Rihanna’s S&M Music Video & The Futuristic Feminist

Rihanna's music video for S&M hit the web today, and I have to say, for someone, who's not a huge RiRi fan, I am really diggin' this jam. And by dig I mean I've already watched the video at least a dozen times, hoping that the replays of the kinktastic video wouldn't deter my coworkers from being my friends! This video is hot, it was shot by Melina Matsoukas, who also directed Rihanna's Rude Boy video. This chorus just melts me,
Cause I may be bad, but I'm perfectly good at it Sex in the air, I don't care, I love the smell of it Sticks and stones may break my bones But chains and whips excite me
The music video depicts Rihanna, in all sorts of colorful getups, involved in a sadomasochistic relationship with the media. And as in any good S&M relationship, the couple that is Rihanna and the media hounds switch up the role play; in one scene, Rihanna is bound in cellophane at a press conference, in the next she's taking her gagged pet, blogger Perez Hilton, out for a walk. In an interview with MTV's Sway, Rihanna talks about her the song and says it's not about sex, it's a metaphor. From the looks of her video I'm assuming she's calling the relationship between celebrity and media sadomasochistic. She describes the song as rebellious, in-your-face, and unapologetic, and that is exactly how I would describe The Futuristic Feminist. [vodpod id=Video.5484919&w=425&h=350&fv=] What is the Futuristic Feminist? I'm glad you asked! The Futuristic Feminist, is a a trend, a new wave of female artist (mostly scene in popular music) that is overly sexual, ostentatious, witty, shocking and statement making. We've seen this trend is several female artists; Lady Gaga is probably the most direct in her approach, Nicki Minaj introduced the Hip Hop community into the future, Christina Aguilera tried to with Bionic (but she's too old), even Ke$ha (with her We R Who We R music video) and Katy Perry (with her California Gurls style) have dabbled in Futuristic Feminism. As we continue along the path of technology = life, we see this idea reflected in the styling of popular artists. We believe we are in the future, so the Futuristic Feminist styles herself as she would envision her futuristic form. Part feminist, part robot, she uses her sexuality as a means to gain attention for her cause; she is the literal definition of a Fembot. No doubt, this trend will continue, and I'm not going to talk about who started it (I know all the Little Monsters out there will swear it was Lady Gaga) but there were innovative female artists before her and there will be innovative female artists after her. The important thing is that these female artists will continue to try and one-up one another, which is really just a great thing for everybody. The drooling sperm-producers of the world will get to stare with open mouths and trousers at the hotness that is the Futuristic Feminist, and she'll get to subtly implant her message across the globe! I love it when we're sneaky! This video is so gorgeous, of course it would have it's own gallery!

Montana Fishburne on As Is Cover
May I draw your attention to the headline, which reads, "Montana Fishburne: Star of Porn Tape & Lawrence Fishburne's Daughter Says: "I'm Not Doing Shit To Him, But Fucking and Having My Career." Kla$$y!
Kim Kardashian On Being Skinny/Fat In Allure
Okay, I think I'm starting to get it. Kim wants to be an icon for curvy women but she back then she was just too damn fat. That totally makes sense.
Nicki Minaj Covers Black Woman Talks Gaga
Nicki Minaj is a hot new artist on the hip-hop/rap scene and is turning some heads with her wild style. In the most recent issue of Black Woman, which Miss Minaj covers, she talks about the comparison made between she and Lady Gaga.

Christina Blames Gaga For Her Unpopularity

S Club 7 Member Comes Out
If someone had said ’are you gay?’ I would have said yes, but no-one ever did. I’ve never felt the need to leap out of the closet singing and dancing about it. I’ve always known I was gay, from a very young age.
New FreeCreditReport.com Band
It's official, my FBD Eric Violette is officially out and the scam artists known as FreeCreditReport.com have named Victorious Secrets as their new official band.
Ke$ha's Animal Adventures
And just for fun here's a home video of Ke$ha and her crazy family at the zoo. It's something fun to do to pass the time. Or you know, if you're inebriated and can't make it to the zoo yourself.

The Lady & The Countess

Countess Luann deLesseps of The Real Housewives of New York City, who recently released her sea witch Ursula voice onto the world is looking to push her singing career to the limit.
... she's working on a second single called "Chic C'est La Vie" and hoping to eventually record an album. And she already knows which artist she'd love to collaborate with... "It'd be fun to do something with [Lady] Gaga," she said. "The Lady and the Countess!"
I'm sure when Lady Gaga gets a load of all the fairies in the Countess' Money Can't Buy You Class music video she'll be dying to throw them in some fishnets, corsets and heels and call it a day... oh wait, she already made the Alejandro video. Oh well, here's to beautiful male models of the world who only get to dream of collaborating with one, if not both, of these drag divas! Via ONTD

This Is The Shit I Come Back To?!

It seems that in my absence Lady Gaga has made a new music video for her shitty Alejandro song. I'll have to do a bit of research on the meaning behind watching Lady Gaga give it to some hulked out fairies in high heels and corsets, but I'm sure there's some feminism in there... In the meantime, enjoy the video (all 9 minutes of it) and relish in the fact that I'm back and in business! PS Whoever is flooding my comment inbox with spam stop it or I will be forced to hijack your mind and have you to sing show tunes... I am the ultimate mental terrorist!

Gaga Makes Out With A Woman… Big Surprise

Lady Gaga was spotted in Saint Tropez, France today, yachting it up with some big-lipped hussy! The paps caught the two ladies smooching and generally having a good time being rich/being some rich bitch's piece. Everyone is in complete shock over the lesbianosity shown by Gaga but it's nothing we haven't seen before. We saw Gaga smooching on the fems in both LoveGame and Telephone, not to mention the fact that she's admitted swinging both ways. What I'm more shocked about is seeing Gaga looking like a regular person. Let's hope Gaga's new piece pussy-slapped some sense into her and maybe we'll see her acting like Stephanie. We miss her! Here's a gallery of the scissor sisters and a couple of Grandma Gaga with studded vag! Via ONTD

CHRISTINA AGUILERA’S “NOT MYSELF TONIGHT”: A Lesson In Radical Feminism

Cover art for Aguilera's upcoming album, Bionic.
Okay kids this is an educational post so Miss Bleecker is going to use her impending college degree to do a super, special, fancy post. Get ready to get schooled! Smarty pants language starting in... 3... 2... There is a strongly held belief that to be a radical feminist one must contradict all traditional aspects of feminitiy. In the Bleecker's opinion, the strongest feminist embraces her femininity. If you know mah homegirl Christina Aguilera, you know she feels the same way. There's been a lot of controversy surrounding the release of Christina Aguilera's latest music video, Not Myself Tonight. The main arguments involving the video are: that Aguilera is selling her sexuality for shock value and that Aguilera is copying other female artists. Both of these statements are true, but not for the reasons the online media explains them to be. Introduction: Aguilera's Feminist Manifesto Chapter 1: Aguilera's Music Video Anthology Chapter 2: Analysis Of The Not Myself Tonight Lyrics Chapter 3: Madonna: Holding Out vs. Putting Out Chapter 4: Freedom 90: Musical Bondage & Breaking Free Chapter 5: Sex and the City: When Is Sexuality Acceptable? Chapter 6: Beyonce: Getting Out Of Relationships Chapter 7: Lady Gaga: The Line Between Benefits & Heartbreak Conclusion: Getting The Mixed Message If you haven't seen the video don't even bother reading this post. But you really should watch the video. Probably the uncensored version too.

US TROOPS IN AFGHANISTAN REMAKE “TELEPHONE”: Don’t Ask Don’t Tell Policy Remains Intact

I'm glad to see the military got rid of all the gays! The above video was posted last week, I'm assuming when there was a lull in the war. But seriously, this is probably one of the first times I'm really proud of our boys overseas. They put their free time to good use. They could be watching porn on VHS and circle jerking, but instead they chose to remake the best music video of the year; complete with choreographed dance routines, costumes, back flips and homoerotic imagery! What could be more patriotic?! I really feel that if our soldiers went out into the streets of Afghanistan and just danced it out, the world would be a much more beautiful place! That's it! When I become the first Female President of the United States I'm going to replace military troops with dance crews! Spreading freedom one Harlem Shake at a time! Via Dlisted
