The September issue of Vogue, aka the most important issue of the most important magazine ever is featuring it's first black woman in 21 years. Halle Berry is only the second black woman to grace the cover of the September issue (Naomi Campbell was the first in 1989.)
May I draw your attention to the headline, which reads, "Montana Fishburne: Star of Porn Tape & Lawrence Fishburne's Daughter Says: "I'm Not Doing Shit To Him, But Fucking and Having My Career." Kla$$y!
Nicki Minaj is a hot new artist on the hip-hop/rap scene and is turning some heads with her wild style. In the most recent issue of Black Woman, which Miss Minaj covers, she talks about the comparison made between she and Lady Gaga.
The September issue of Rolling Stone features a blood splattered threesome: True Blood's Oscar Winner Anna Paquin, fiance Stephen Moyer & Swedish Sex-Bomb Alexander Skarsgard. (I wouldn't mind getting in the middle of that Vampwich!)
The study reported that teens in committed relationships did not appear to have lower GPAs than those who abstained from sex. However, it appears that the loosey goosies out there are a little dumber than the average one-partner-pumba.
But like in any industry minorities (and women) are generally marginalized. However, the porn industry is unique because it is the one industry in which women can demand more money than men and the racial diversity is certainly more prevalent than in feature films.

With mounting responsibility and shortened free time, MissBleecker is beginning to feel the pangs of loosing touch with her Radioactive roots. So, in an effort to combat fatigue and general globbing laziness, I've decided to take a new approach. Every day there is going to be a different post on a category from the Radioactive Repertoire, and it will sum up all the best comings and goings of the previous week in said category. What does this look like? I'm glad you asked! Here's the rundown of what you readers have to look forward to (if I keep my word and work everything out.)
Monday is Concession Stand, the Films/TV update.
Tuesday is Beauty Binge, the Beauty update.
Wednesday is Hump Day, the Sex update.
Thursday is Music Notes, the Music update.
Friday is The Rag Times, the Literature update.
And Sunday is Weekend Purge, which will be a general update of everything that happened over the weekend.
So that's the rundown. I hope this new format can be mutually beneficial in which it saves me time and effort and allows, you, the reader, to get a lot of information about many things and in all categories of popular culture... but mostly it's to save me time.
So here's the first update, it's fitting that Hump Day is the first installment. I hope you all enjoy. Here's something to get you through the week! You've made it over the hump... it's all downhill from here!
When the March issue of Vanity Fair came out featuring only white actresses for their New Hollywood issue, there was a storm of controversy demanding more diversity representation. Now, in it's first issue, Fearless Magazine is featuring all black women on their cover.

Now while I do think it's kind of ridiculous for a publication like Vanity Fair to completely ignore "diversity" in Hollywood, and I do think it's great for black women to have a voice and representation in the media, I don't know if this is necessarily the answer.
What the covers illustrate is an overall lack on diversity represented in Hollywood. Obviously black women are minimized, but by segmenting Hollywood into black and white, it represents more of a two party system than diversity, which by definition means many. Neither magazine features women of an "other" race; we see no Asian, Latin, Middle Eastern or any other "type" of women. Where's the gay representation? Where is the full-figured representation? Where's the over 40 representation? It's obvious from these covers, that a more diverse Hollywood is needed to better represent the face of the modern American women. As far as what's needed to represent "us" in more realistic way, Hollywood is going to have to stop seeing in just black and white.
