KATY PERRY: The Ironic Feminist

Katy Perry's been on everyone's radio, television, computer screen and various other implements of technology for a couple years now. As a facet of popular culture Katy isn't granted much nevermind, her music is taken at face value as something to grind up on a stranger to in a crowded club that your friend dragged you to, because she's had a rough week and she really just wants to dance but you really just want to stay in, open a bottle of wine and watch Saturday Night Live even if it's not been that good lately. I digress... What I was saying is that no one really dissects her music because, as it is pop music, most people don't really feel the need to read into it. (Just listen to it, you ear-bud drone!) The first time I heard California Gurls I was like, "Catchy, but not my cup of tea." (I'm a rocker!) And then I saw the video and then I watched it again and something clicked. Katy Perry might not be just another pretty, dumb, pop singer. Maybe she's smart, maybe she's trying to say something... maybe she's a feminist in centerfold clothing! And so I present to you, without further adieu (because there's already been far too much adieu): Katy Perry: The Ironic Feminist! ADDENDUM (Russell Brand Post): Jackie Q “Ring Round My Rosie”

Happy Tuesday all, here's your afternoon pick-me-up! In the new hit movie, Get Him To The Greek, Russell Brand's portrayal of unrecovered rocker Aldous Snow is only bested by his show stealing lady Jackie Q played by Damages' Rose Byrne. Jackie Q asks in her below hit single, "What's the point of life if that gays have all the fun?" Indeed! Feast your eyes on Rosie's Posey! And if you haven't already seen Get Him To The Greek, do it NOW!

Katy Perry Better Keep An Eye On Fifi Box

You must all watch the above interview with bad-boy rocker Russell Brand by Fifi Box, who Russell kindly dubbed Jezebel Vagina. The interview started out innocent enough as Ms. Box began asking Russell about his new film, Get Him To The Greek, in which he reprises his hit role as Aldous Snow from Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Soon enough Russell began talking about creampies and ratbags and before you knew it, he had mounted the frightened Aussie interviewer. Here are just a couple quotes from Russell during the motley interview. "Pop yourself down on me knee and let's see if we can't get you pregnant." "When you laugh at that it makes me know what you sound like when you come... and I like it." I don't know what Russell's new fiance Katy Perry will think, but that sounds like flirting to me. Poor Fifi Box was so taken aback by the rocker's outlandish actions she could barely ask him a question without bursting out into orgasmic laughter. Hey Russell, can MissBleecker get an interview?
