KATY PERRY: The Ironic Feminist

Conclusion: That's What She Said Well that was a mouthful. I'm not going to drag on for much longer, you've all been with me for much longer than was necessary. Just a few last parting words. I love Katy Perry. I think she's gorgeous, I think she's fantastic, I think she's smart... but it doesn't really matter what I think. I'm just a lowly satirical, feminist globber, it's my job to spin the truth and make it into what I interpret it to be. But now that you've read the entire Katy Perry Retrospective, the choice is up to you. And so children, I once again pose a question to you. Do you think Katy Perry is really capable of doing all this while being completely naive to her art? Or, could it be possible that she is indeed an Ironic Feminist? Hint: I'm right

  1. This is AWESOME. I’ve always thought of Katy Perry as not-your-typical-popstar, even if her songs are pop sound to the nth level. It’s not just because she reminds me of Zooey Deschanel. Just by looking at her, and how she does this sexy-sultry-sex siren image with so much enjoyment, I never even thought for a moment she’s one of those dumb popstars. And yeah, her lyrics speak volumes even with the bubblegummy dancey-tuney melodies.
