OSCARS 2010: The Biggest Battle Of The Sexes EVER!!!

Supporting Male Actor
Matt Damon in “Invictus” Woody Harrelson in “The Messenger” Christopher Plummer in “The Last Station” Stanley Tucci in “The Lovely Bones” Christoph Waltz in “Inglourious Basterds”
My prediction: Christopher Waltz - He was fucking awesome, wasn't he? Supporting Female Actor
Penélope Cruz in “Nine” Vera Farmiga in “Up in the Air” Maggie Gyllenhaal in “Crazy Heart” Anna Kendrick in “Up in the Air” Mo’Nique in “Precious: Based on the Novel ‘Push’ by Sapphire”
My prediction: Mo'Nique - It's not often enough that strong, funny, plus-sized African-American actors are rewarded for an amazing performance. Mo'Nique is an inspiration for so many women who have been told they can't do something. Cinematography
Avatar Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince The Hurt Locker Inglourious Basterds The White Ribbon
My prediction: The Hurt Locker - It brings you into the film, yet also keeps you disconnected enough to feel something profound. Editing
Avatar District 9 The Hurt Locker Inglourious Basterds Precious: Based on the Novel ‘Push’ by Sapphire
My prediction: Toss up between The Hurt Locker & District 9 - Both styles are very similar, a lot of hand held, a lot of vérité style. While, District 9 pushed it a little farther, The Hurt Locker is the most publicized film here. However, since District 9 probably won't win any other awards the Academy might give it a smaller category. Original Song
“Almost There” from “The Princess and the Frog” “Down in New Orleans” from “The Princess and the Frog” “Loin de Paname” from “Paris 36” “Take It All” from “Nine” “The Weary Kind (Theme from Crazy Heart)” from “Crazy Heart”
My prediction: The Weary Kind - Just watch Ryan Bingham (not George Clooney's character form Up in the Air) perform his song on YouTube. You'll see what I mean. Documentary Feature
Burma VJ The Cove Food, Inc. The Most Dangerous Man in America: Daniel Ellsberg and the Pentagon Papers Which Way Home
My choice: Food, Inc. - I have to admit this is the only film I've seen of the lot, but it was so much more than just another movie about how the food industry sucks. Which it does. My prediction: The Cove - While I haven't seen this film, I've heard a great deal about it. The story is original, unique and virtually unknown. Eye opening docs usually win this category.
