Game of Thrones: Pre-Premiere Round-Up

PRESUMED DEAD

dead

Jon Snow jon-snowWhat We Know: Jon Snow sent Sam off to college and was brutally stabbed by all of his Night's Watch bros in Castle Black. Predictions: Too many predictions to get into fully, but here goes... Jon Snow is seen dying, but has not taken his last breath. He could possibly be clinging to life, might be brought back by Melisandre, or actually dead. In connection to the Bran-dream theory, Jon Snow's stabbing could be a vision, leaving time for a warning before it actually takes place. But the theory that I like relates to Jon possibly being a Targaryen. Let's say that when Ned's sister was kidnapped by the Mad King she gave birth to a baby, Jon, and Ned brought him back to Winterfell to raise as his own. But he had to give Jon the bastard name of Snow to protect both Cat and the Targaryen baby. jon-snowNow let's fast forward to present day, Jon is stabbed to death, the Night's Watch obviously has to burn his body so he doesn't turn into a White Walker. But a true Dragon (nickname for Targaryen) does not burn, as Dany does not. So Jon wouldn't be affected by the fire, and would possibly come back as a White Walker. But would his magical ancestry allow him special White Walker abilities? Like cognizance?  Perhaps Jon will come back as head White Walker, or perhaps he will come back as an un-dead Dragon, leading the rebellion against the White Walkers and riding one of his half-sister's dragons into battle? I think it's an interesting theory. Stannis Baratheon stannisWhat We Know: Stannis sacrificing his young daughter in front of his troops really didn't work the way he wanted, and most of his men fled before the battle of Winterfell. Stannis went ahead with it anyway and got his ass kicked. Last we see Stannis, he is accepting his fate for sending a ghost to kill his brother Renly, and Brienne swings her sword in his general direction. Predictions: Stannis is probably dead right? I mean we see Brienne swinging her sword at him, so how could he be alive? Well we do know Melisandre did some pretty dark magic to get him on the good side of the Lord of Light. So maybe Stannis does die, but maybe the Lord of Light brings him back, or maybe he doesn't die and this scene resumes in season 6. Uncle Benjen Stark benjenWhat We Know: Benjen went beyond the Wall in season 1 for a run-of-the-mill ranging and said he was going to stop at Craster's Keep. We see his horse return to Castle black, but with no rider. In season 2 Craster claims he hasn't seen Benjen in 3 years, meaning something happened to him before he got there. The last we hear of Benjen, traitor Olly tells Jon that someone saw his Uncle, but it was really just to lure him to his shanking. Predictions: Benjen's body was never found, we never see him as a White Walker, which means there is a chance he's either alive somewhere beyond the wall, or he's a high ranking White Walker, who will be used in their army later on. Benjen had a relatively minor role in season 1, but has been brought up in several big plot points since he disappeared, which makes me suspect he will come back, because, you know, it's Thrones!
