OSCAR WATCH 2011: The Hostesses With The Mostestes

It's that time of year again! And no I'm not talking about the time of year that elicits 8 white plastic trees, a 6-foot menorah and various twinkle lights in my office lobby (sorry kiddies Santa doesn't exist, and I'm a Scrooge.) However, one thing I won't say Bah Humbug to is my second favorite season of the year, Oscar Season! Yes, Oscar season has officially begun with the announcement of the hosts. That's two this year, congratulations to James Franco and Anne Hathaway two very young, very beautiful, very skilled actors who will both probably be nominated for their performances in 127 Hours and Love and Other Drugs respectfully, but probably not win. Here's the official statement from Oscar peeps:
James Franco and Anne Hathaway personify the next generation of Hollywood icons— fresh, exciting and multi-talented. We hope to create an Oscar broadcast that will both showcase their incredible talents and entertain the world on February 27. We are completely thrilled that James and Anne will be joining forces with our brilliant creative team to do just that.
And so my dearies, while the snow piles up outside and you sit with your loved ones around a crackling fire, sipping cocoa I will be getting my $13 worth at my local movie theatre with the MissBleecker special aka buying a ticket for one movie and sneaking into several. Sorry Regal Movie Theatres but I have to see 10 movies which will be nominated for the 2011 Academy Awards and last year's endeavor of trying to watch them all over a weekend on my 13 inch computer was not much fun. But see them all I will and project the winners I will also, but talk like Yoda I will not (in future posts at least.) Last Oscars I did pretty damn good if you ungrateful bitches can't recall. So when the official list comes out and I force my eyes at a big screen for 12 hrs feasting on popcorn and Bunch-a-Crunch and then write a post so long and detailed you'd wish I hadn't, just know that it's all for you and not at all for the glory of gloating and being able to say on February 28th that I was right and you were wrong! Casual Sex Déjà Vu

So today I was doing my usual go through all the new trailers on Hulu because that's what I do routine and I had a strange sense of déjà vu. I saw a trailer entitled No Strings Attached, I watched it, it's about a pair of friends who start getting busy, feelings get involved and then they fall in love, you know, the usual. But it reminded me of a post I'd done a bit ago about a movie called Love And Other Drugs with a similar storyline... and then it reminded me of another trailer I'd seen recently called Friends With Benefits... and that reminded me of another post I'd done about an NBC show also called Friends With Benefits... which reminded me that I need to stop watching TV and movies because they're all the same. Now I just have one question: why is Justin Timberlake not in the movie about casual sex that references one of the best *NSYNC songs of all time? And why is there not a musical reunion number of sorts in said movie? Okay, that was two questions, but seriously, are we just in the fashion of green-lighting the same movie over and over again? It's not like we haven't seen a RomCom about two unlikely friends getting down and falling in love before. Hello! I'm talking to you producers, you should have stopped at When Harry Met Sally. What, are you going to remake Casablanca too? Oh wait Madonna wants to direct it but it has to be set in war torn Iraq (not making this up.) Don't you dare! If you haven't seen the newest trailers, clicky clicky! No Strings Attached Friends With Benefits More of the same after the JUMP! Continue reading Casual Sex Déjà Vu
