Here's what she had to say about James Cameron losing to, ex-wife, Kathryn Bigelow in the Oscars,
Jim didn't have breasts, and I think that was the reason. He should have taken home that Oscar. In the past, 'Avatar' would have won because they [Oscar voters] loved to hand out awards to big productions, like 'Ben-Hur.' Today it's fashionable to give the Oscar to a small movie that nobody saw.
That's right Sigourney, Jimmy Boy lost the Oscars because he has a penis. I don't know what we were thinking, I mean it's not like women have never been held back because of our genitalia! How rude! Sigourney is so right, we should definitely reward filmmakers for spending a lot of money on a big production, because really, that's what filmmaking is supposed to be about, right?! We shouldn't give awards to films nobody saw, even if they are far superior to Avafuckingtar, because that would be un-American and sexist! Thank you, Sigourney Weaver, for opening our eyes to the atrocities of the world!
The breasts that launched a thousand ships.

OSCARS 2010: The Biggest Battle Of The Sexes EVER!!! https://www.radioactivecookies.com/oscars-2010-the-biggest-battle-of-the-sexes-ever/ https://www.radioactivecookies.com/oscars-2010-the-biggest-battle-of-the-sexes-ever/#respond Tue, 02 Mar 2010 21:38:06 +0000 http://radioactivecookies.wordpress.com/?p=101 Continue reading OSCARS 2010: The Biggest Battle Of The Sexes EVER!!! ]]> Take me to Oscar Predictions. Each year the Oscars are a blood bath of designer gowns, divaness and reaction shots, and the Oscars 2010 are going to be the most epic bare knuckle fight EVER! For the first time, they don't have just 5 nominees, but 10! 10 movies! I had to watch 10 movies, including Avatar! I digress, we'll get to Avatar later. But yes, 10 films have been nominated for best picture. I'm still flabbergasted. And although the films themselves should be at the forefront of the race for Oscar gold, that's not even close to being the case. The Oscars 2010 is shaping up to be the biggest battle of the sexes ever! Kathryn Bigelow, director of The Hurt Locker, and James Cameron, director of Avatar, previous 3 time Oscar winner for Titanic, are duking it out with the most nominations, 9 each. Their respective films represent exactly what the film industry is nowadays; a titanic director (pun intended) creates an epic work, loved the world over for technological advances but not story. Then we have a virtual unknown who makes waves out of ripples with her little film that could, which is pipelined with depth but had previously not been publicized well. However, that's not even the best of it, Bigelow and Cameron are exes. Yeah, they were married. The sun is shining a little brighter, the birds are beginning to chirp, the streets are filled with general merriment... well not if you live in New York, we've just been hit with cataclysmic snow. Regardless, it must be Oscar season! Aside from Halloween, Oscar season is my favorite time of year. And this is for several reasons; as a poor college student I probably don't get my movies from the most reliable sources, ie WatchMovies, check it out, best site ever! However, during Oscar seasons all the For Your Consideration screeners are online, which means, Oscar season is the only time of year you can watch good quality indie films online... for FREE! In addition, I love the fashion! I love to watch those bitches on E! bitch about each other, it's just great television! And you know there's always that one Bjork who thought it would be a good idea to wear a swan as a dress. God I wish Lady GaGa got an invitation! Anyway, digressing again, lastly, I love to watch the publicity battle over who's going to win, because, let's face it, the Oscars are not just an awards show, they are the crème de la crème of popularity contests. Let me paint you a little picture, imagine every popular person you ever met, and never met, got together and had a party celebrating each other. That's the Oscars! And oh do the claws come out! I just love watching as they announce the winners and then the losers have to make their loser faces, which we all know they've been practicing just as much as their acceptance speech. They can usually go a few ways, graceful, surprised, unaffected or "what the fuck?" I love the upsets! When someone feels they're a lock and loses I love to see the fury grow on their face! Does that make me a little sick? C'est la vie. Let's face it people, when a relationship ends, no matter how amicable or violent that final showdown was, we all want to win the breakup! Basically, whoever wins best picture wins the breakup. I bet the exact moment Bigelow wanted to knock Cameron off his high horse was when he accepted his best director Oscar for Titanic and gave the most narcissistic and corny tagline ever, "I'm the king of the world." Really Jim? Not cool. From that moment Bigelow said, "Hey I'm going to make a movie so awesome, that when hubby makes a huge splash, breaking every record known to man, I'm going to upstage him with, [comparatively] the least expensive piece of cinéma vérité ever!" And it looks like she just might! See video below for douchery. Visit YouTube for full video featuring the cast of Terminator. Bigelow and Cameron, both nominated for a total of 9 awards, are nominated 7 times in the same category. Bigelow nominated categories: leading actor, cinematography, directing, editing, original score, sound editing, sound mixing, original screenplay, best picture. Cameron nominated categories:art direction, cinematography, directing, editing, original score, sound editing, sound mixing, visual effects, best picture. Enough with the graphics, back to the goods. Bigelow is poised to deliver a big fuck you revenge package to ex Cameron and make Oscar history as the first female to ever win an Oscar for best directing. There have been only 3 other females nominated for best director: Lina Wertmuller, Jane Campion and Sofia Coppola. With Bigelow still hot from her BAFTA win she might be just the lady to bring it on home. She has the best chance out of any of the few female filmmakers to win the Oscar. However, Cameron, who has previously won the award, beat out Bigelow for the Golden Globe for best director. Usually the Oscars fall pretty much in line with the Globes, but always saves a few big awards for upsets, ie best director, as it might be this year, or best picture, ie the Brokeback Mountain/Crash fiasco of 2006. Don't even get me started! While the Oscars like to stay streamlined and predictable, they are still a show that is subject to ratings and therefore likes to save upsets for the end, so people will sit through the 17 hours of pontificating and lame jokes the hosts make. Which, this year, I hope is much better than previously, since we will have two hosts, Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin, two amazingly funny, if slightly aged comedians. However, since I did see It's Complicated, starring both, I feel like I kind of already saw this show and am not too keen on watching it again. I hated that movie, is basically what it comes down to. So, in the grand scheme of things, who am I rooting for? And before I answer this question, who I'm rooting for has nothing to do with who I think should win, except in this case I'd sooner watch a documentary about anthropologist Susan McKinley (do not click on that link, I'm warning you) than sit through Avatar again. Obviously, I'm rooting for Bigelow. It's about damn time a woman won an Oscar in a category women usually aren't nominated in. And I'm not saying, "Oh just because she's a woman she should win," it's true, she should, but she also deserves it. Her film is by far the best directed of the category. I almost feel bad because the Academy didn't really give her any competition. The director's category was clearly designed with Bigelow and Cameron in mind with Bigelow for the win. The Academy nominated directors who, while they had great films, are virtually on the radar since the For Your Consideration ads came out. They know they're not going to win, so why waste money on a 4 page front cover spread in Variety? Oh wait they did that for Meryl Streep and she has a snowball's chance in hell, I digress again, we'll get to Streep later. But yes, to conclude this paragraph Bigelow should and will win. Continue to Page 2 for Oscar Predictions. Side note: Cameron, ever the womanizer, with 5 wives, is currently married to the useless granddaughter from Titanic. Another side note: while the Oscars are one of my favorite things to watch on TV, my favorite thing about the Oscars is the "In Memoriam" portion, or as I like to refer to it as "The Dead Montage." You know the one, right around the 7th inning stretch they make everyone cry and go, "Oh my god, he/she's dead?!" Here's a gallery of Cameron, Bigelow, the useless granddaughter from Ttianic, The Hurt Locker Posters, Avatar Posters and more! For more information about the Oscars click here. "No one in Hollywood told me they wanted to see a movie about a 350-pound black girl who had HIV," Daniels blurted out during his acceptance speech, before realizing that he'd possibly embarrassed his full-figured star. Trying to cover up his mistake, the director stuttered at Sidibe and the audience, "She's not 350 pounds. ... Gabby... But the book says. ... " The Oscar-nominated actress grew noticeably upset, shaking her head at the director's comment...
I want to commend Gabby for being so gracious as to accept a dumbass' apology. Not only was she fantastic in the film but incredibly brave for putting herself out there as much as she did. She must have known that when the film opened she would be subject to scrutiny. Gabby put herself under a microscope not only to open the door for African American talent but also for full-figured female actors. Gabby has taken everything in stride, not to mention she's looked fabulous while doing so. Via DailyNews Below is a gallery of Gabby lookin' fly on the red carpet! ]]>
