Game of Thrones: Pre-Premiere Round-Up

ESSOS

Braavos Arya, Jacquen What We Know: Arya got in trouble with the Many Faced God for killing child-rapist Meryn Trant at a brothel. Jacquen finds out, because he knows everything, fakes her out by killing himself, but reveals that she's been blinded as punishment. aryaPredictions: The season 6 trailer is ripe with Arya material. It's obvious this blind thing is here to stay. We see her fighting Jacquen's other pupil in the temple of the Many Faced God, after he tells her that she's been given a second chance, but won't be given a third. The fight could simply be her training and getting accustomed to her new senses, but there's probably something personal in there. Now that Arya is officially "no one", she may give up her Kill-List and go full on Faceless Man. Though Needle is still stashed away under a rock, waiting for her. Vaes Dothrak Daenerys, Drogon (Big Dragon) daenerysWhat We Know: Daenerys used her Mother Dragon ESP to call Drogon down and save her from almost being slaughtered by the Sons of the Harpy. Drogon got his wing injured and dropped her off somewhere far-far-away, which she learns is actually Dothraki territory when she sees the Khalasar ride through. drogonPredictions: Dragon's really are the darndest things! Daenerys can't exactly control her #1 big boy, Drogon, yet there is still a strong connection there. It is obvious by the trailer that Khaleesi is a prisoner (again) of the Dothraki Khalasar, perhaps they will kill her for breaking up their crew? Probably not. What's more likely, though not teased at all, is that the Dothraki will take up arms with Khaleesi. After all, the Khalasar follows the strongest leader, and if Dany can control Drogon, she may prove to the Khalasar that she is the one true Khaleesi. Meereen (Slaver's Bay) Tyrion, Varys, Jorah, Daario, Missandei, Grey Worm, tyrionWhat We Know: Daenerys' squad got themselves out of the games with the Sons of the Harpy, but are now basically waiting around for Khaleesi to return. We know Missandei and Grey Worm are having a serious flirtation. Tyrion is filling his time drinking, waiting for Varys to spill some juicy gossip. Meanwhile, Daario and Jorah leave Meereen to find Khaleesi, but Jorah is still keeping his Greyscale a secret, understandably so. missandeiPredictions: Tyrion seems to be the man in charge with a MIA Khaleesi, which is probably for the best. You know Varys will do his best to advise the Half-Man, but Tyrion mathematically is the main protagonist, so look to him to set the mood and drive the story now that he's in Essos. greyscaleJorah and Daario are going to have a road-trip romp trying to find Dany, in which Daario will probably discover Jorah's Greyscale, possibly infesting himself. We do know that the only survivor of Greyscale (sacrificed Shireen) was cured as a child, but it left her scarred. Stannis apparently searched across the narrow sea for a cure, perhaps Jorah will find a cure on the road? All the fan-fic writers, I'm sure, are really rooting for the two ex-slaves, Missandei and Grey Worm,  to get together. Rhaegal and Viserion (Chained Dragons) tyrion-dragonsWhat We Know: Daenerys' two smaller dragons were chained up in the basement of her Meereen palace after Drogon BBQed some locals. Dany has taken some nobles downstairs to feed her babies, but people have been more afraid to let them out than use their power to exact revenge. dragon2Predictions: In the season 6 trailer Tyrion warns that dragons don't do too well caged up. He may be foreshadowing what will happen if they stay locked up, i.e. bringing the palace down and everything around it. However, I like to think he means to release the dragons in order to find Drogon and Khaleesi. I mean for real, there weren't enough dragons in season 5, season 6 better bring some scales!
